IGBS Helps Deliver 29th SEA Games In Kuala Lumpur
Following the success of its participation at the 28th SEA Games Singapore 2015, as the production partner of Host Broadcaster MediaCorp, IGBS is pleased to announce its appointment by Astro Arena for the delivery of a number of production services at the 29th SEA Games 2017.
The Games, which will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 19 to 31 August, will see a return to Asia for IGBS – who have a long track-record of success in the region, including the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006, 16th Asian Games Guangzhou 2010, 17th Asian Games Incheon 2014 and the 7th Asian Winter Games Astana-Almaty 2011.
The design of the International Broadcast Centre (IBC), located at the brand new Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), comes under IGBS’ remit: IGBS has provided the design of the multilateral and unilateral areas to the contractor appointed by MASOC (the Local Organising Committee). IGBS is also in charge of IBC broadcast engineering and supplied the IBC broadcast technical equipment, as well as the integration of said equipment. IGBS will oversee IBC operations, run pre-event tests and CDT operations.
IGBS will provide ENG coverage for non-live sports, as well as Quality Control for all live events, Daily Highlights production, and the production for two multi channels. Three Broadcast Venue Managers (BVMs) from IGBS will support broadcast activities at venues.
Regarding relations with Rights Holding Broadcasters (RHBs), IGBS teams are in charge of the booking operations and will generate/distribute broadcast information pre-event and during event time to better answer the requests of RHBs.
IGBS is honoured to have been asked by Astro Arena to participate again to the SEA Games broadcast operations and look forward to delivering another key event on the Asian continent.
