HBS & LFP Deepen Their Partnership With New Digital Mission

After the launch of Domino’s Ligue 2 (L2) and the first round of the Coupe de la Ligue, it’s now time for Ligue 1 (L1) to take centre stage with Paris Saint-Germain on the hunt for a fifth consecutive title. HBS and the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) will continue to be alongside the clubs and broadcasters to ensure the highest broadcast standards for the best viewing experience.

This 2016-2017 season sees the start of a new chapter in the partnership between HBS and the LFP. Supplement to historical missions (including quality control, on-site media management and additional tasks), the Ligue has further commissioned HBS to handle its archives and coverage through an online webserver.

All the matches from L1, L2 and the Coupe de la Ligue will now be stored as digital files on a dedicated platform and able to be accessed remotely. The platform also serves as a picture database, where photos taken during each and every game are uploaded for rights holders to use.

This webserver hosts a streaming feed of the games, so that any authorised person (commentators, referees, clubs, etc.) may watch the match live in standard definition from a second screen. Downloading this content in HD will be enabled for broadcast-quality coverage.

The LFP also tasked HBS with the digitalisation and online upload of all its archives, from 1988 to today. This represents a massive amount of content to be transposed from videotapes and hard drives. These archives will all be made available for download.

All of the above missions have been renewed until the end of the 2019-2020 season. Halfway through this new cycle, in 2018, HBS and the LFP will be proud to celebrate 10 years of successful and innovative partnership where HBS has contributed to help the Ligue share the passion of football with an ever-growing number of viewers.
