HBS & LFP Celebrate Partnership Anniversary
Signed on 28 March 2008, the agreement between HBS and the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has fostered a strong collaboration, as HBS France Production was created and dedicated to upholding this commitment to quality and innovation.
Ten years later, the partnership remains strong and hard work is carried out on both sides to continuously improve the broadcasting standards of the Ligue’s competitions.
Among the areas of responsibility handled by HBS is Quality Control. HBS’ quality control unit monitors the conformity and ensures that the quality of match feeds meet the standards set by the LFP.
The HBS team is also responsible for managing the on-site Media Managers who handle the efficient coordination of all media activity at the stadiums on match days and liaise with the HBS quality control unit.
HBS France Production has additional complementary missions, such as consulting on all production-related topics and also provides technical guidance and analysis of broadcast infrastructure, in order to optimise the deployment of the equipment and better the quality and consistency of the viewing experience.
The 2016-2017 season saw the start of a new chapter in the partnership between HBS and the LFP, as the Ligue further commissioned HBS to handle its archives and coverage through an online webserver.
All the matches from L1, L2 and the Coupe de la Ligue are now stored as digital files on a dedicated platform and able to be accessed remotely.
This platform hosts a streaming feed of the games, so that any authorised person (commentators, referees, clubs, officials, etc.) may watch the match live in standard definition from a second screen. Downloading this content in HD is enabled for broadcast quality coverage.
The LFP also tasked HBS with the digitalisation and online upload of all its archives, from 1984 to today. This represents a massive amount of content to be transposed from videotapes and hard drives. These archives, with all the actions logged, will all be made available for download thanks to an efficient research tool.
All of the above missions have been renewed until the end of the 2019-2020 season. HBS is proud to celebrate 10 years of successful, innovative and trusting partnership where the company has contributed to help the Ligue share the passion of football with an ever-growing number of viewers.
