HBS Launches U.K. Operation
HBS – Host Broadcaster of major international sports events – has established a subsidiary to manage its projects in the U.K. Based out of London, it will open its premises in January 2024.
The office will be led by UK industry stalwart Jamie Aitchison, who HBS is delighted to announce in the role of Managing Director.
Over a 30–year career in the industry Jamie has worked with broadcasters, production companies, governing bodies and brands, including ITV Sport, Sunset + Vine, IMG, World Rugby and NFL. As Head of Sport for Channel 4 he oversaw the the ground-breaking and BAFTA–winning coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, while he has previously worked for HBS on four previous FIFA World Cup™ events.
“Jamie’s in–depth knowledge of the production market, and the key figures within it, as well as his long prior working relationship with HBS made him an obvious candidate to lead our operation in the U.K.,” stated Dan Miodownik, HBS CEO. “He has a hugely impressive track record on U.K.-based events, as well as major international productions on the grandest scale, and we look forward to seeing him put that expertise to use on our upcoming projects. ”
