HBS At NAB Show: A Round-Up
The HBS management team met with world broadcast industry leaders at the annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show, which took place in Las Vegas from 17 to 21 April, with an attendance of 103,012 from 187 countries.
HBS Chief Executive Office Francis Tellier, accompanied by Chief Technical Officer Jörg Sander, Chief Content Officer Dan Miodownik, Head of Engineering Harry Petry, Deputy Head of Digital Johannes Franken and CEO Office Director Lise Cosimi, amongst others, attended the exhibition to meet the equipment industry leaders, share their experience as Host Broadcaster and present their new training equipment.
The event was for HBS an opportunity to monitor the ever-changing industry trends, make sure the company stays ahead of the game and offer its clients the best available solutions. New developments in 4K, HDR, Virtual Reality and fast-growing IP technology were presented and are explored by HBS at present.
During the week, the SVG Chairman’s Forum panel invited on stage Oscar Sanchez from CONCACAF and HBS CCO Dan Miodownik to discuss the HBS’ involvement as a production partner for Copa America Centenario.
It was also a major time for HBS’ Broadcast Academy to announce its partnership with EVS and present the new Live TV Simulator, now an integrated training facility using the latest in live-production equipment. Also, Lise Cosimi, Broadcast Academy Director, attended the “SVG’s Women’s Sports Media Initiative Networking Lunch” which featured a one-on-one conversation with Signiant CEO Margaret Craig who discussed the progresses made in the industry and renewed recommendations to promote women’s work in broadcast.
