2026 FIFA World CupTM Host Country Announcement
Following the 68th FIFA Congress, held on 13 June in Moscow, and the announcement made regarding the attribution of 2026 FIFA World CupTM, HBS wishes to congratulate the USA, Mexico and Canada joint-bid for their selection as Hosts for the 2026 edition of the tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World CupTM will bring the tournament to North America for the first time since 1994; it will also be the first time the FIFA World CupTM will be hosted by three countries (Korea and Japan co-hosted in 2002).
The 2026 competition will be the first FIFA World CupTM to feature a 48-team format (up from the current set up of 32 teams). The event will have 80 matches, with 10 played in Canada, 10 in Mexico and 60 in the United States, including the Final.
All countries in which HBS has successfully delivered events in the past since its inception in 1999 (Copa America Centenario 2016 in the USA, 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015).
