Host Broadcast Services, fully owned by Infront Sports & Media, is a specialist host broadcast organisation, originally established with the core mandate of producing the television and radio signals for the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World CupsTM.

Purpose of the Job

Ever wondered how millions of viewers worldwide get to experience the electric atmosphere of major sports events? That’s where we come in! We’re seeking a Senior Architect to lead and coordinate all design projects for our International Broadcast Centres (IBC) and Outdoor Presentation Facilities (OPF) across major sporting events. This is a unique opportunity to combine architectural expertise with the exciting world of international sports broadcasting.

The IBC & Broadcast Structures team design and build two essential components that bring sporting events to life for viewers around the world:

  1. International Broadcast Centres (IBC): Think of it as Mission Control for the entire event’s media coverage! This is where All TV, radio, and digital content comes together and broadcasters worldwide set up their operations.
  2. Outdoor Presentation Facilities (OPF): We create picture-perfect settings where broadcasters can capture the real atmosphere of the host country and produce exciting live shows by bringing viewers closer to the action.

Main Duties

You contribute in transforming existing venues into state-of-the-art broadcast facilities, which includes the following:

Lead Design Projects

  • Oversee all architectural design projects for IBCs and OPFs
  • Create comprehensive basic designs, including room layouts, infrastructure planning and facility specifications
  • Manage technical aspects, such as cable routing, power infrastructure and HVAC considerations
  • Ensure optimal space utilisation and functional efficiency
  • Guide and mentor a team of two junior architects
  • Manage workload distribution and project timelines
  • Foster collaboration between HQ teams and international stakeholders
  • Maintain strong communication with our US-based team

Project Coordination

  • Act as the central point of contact for all design-related matters
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including HBS users and Organising Committees
  • Implement and optimise design tools and procedures
  • Ensure smooth information flow across all project levels

Position Relevant Skills

  • Professional architecture degree and relevant certifications
  • Understanding of technical infrastructure (electrical, HVAC basics)
  • Minimum five years of experience in architectural design
  • Strong background in office and commercial space design
  • Urban planning knowledge
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • On-site construction or implementation experience
