Purpose

The Project Engineer Coordinator supports the Project Manager, IBC Implementation Team, and Design Team by providing technical and practical planning assistance throughout the lifecycle of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ IBC project. The Project Engineer Coordinator is responsible for developing detailed project plans, reviewing and analysing designs proposed by vendors, and addressing technical issues while ensuring compliance with local safety and quality standards. Key duties include coordinating with vendors and cross-functional departments to facilitate effective planning and timely completion of project deliverables, evaluating vendor submittals and proposals to confirm efficient and effective system operations, and ensuring all project activities align with local regulations. By managing these aspects, the Project Engineer ensures that technical requirements are met and contributes to the successful and compliant delivery of the project.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Liaise with Project Administrators, cross-functional departments, and external vendors to develop and implement solutions that enhance project efficiency.
  2. Coordinate with the Project Manager, Design Team, and external vendors to review and provide technical insight, as well as resolve issues to facilitate project-related approvals, installations, commissioning, and qualifications.
  3. Assist in facilitating procurement by reviewing vendor proposals, designs, estimates, and related materials pertaining to Request for Proposals (RFPs).
  4. Assist in proposing and/or evaluating new concepts and methods to enhance production, efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  5. Conduct site visits and inspections to review work in progress.
  6. Maintain detailed documentation for projects, including specifications, submittals, designs and schedules.
  7. Assist in regularly scheduled coordination meetings, review design and construction documents, and provide recommendations accordingly.
  8. Coordinate with the Project Management Team to monitor and track potential scope changes, assuring all change management is communicated to the appropriate departments.
  9. Monitor site progress for quality control and adherence to plans and specifications agreed with vendors.

Position Relevant Skills (Education/Work/Experience/IT)

Any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform this position’s duties, such as having the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree – Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline
  • Three-five years minimum of work experience in project engineering or relatable backgrounds
  • Robust technical knowledge of HVAC Systems
  • Understanding and background in Chilled Water systems is a plus
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Project development and implementation experience on large-scale projects
  • Skilled in applying problem-solving techniques and analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Working proficiency in MS Office, Excel
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Field experience
  • EPA 608 Certification, and/or NATE Certification are a plus
  • Valid driver’s license
